Leigh Chantelle is a singer/songwriter from Brisbane with a CD out called 'Inspiration Relocation.'

It is a 5-track ep and she has written all the tracks on it.

She cites her influences as Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Fiona Apple, Ani Di Franco, Natalie Merchant, Jewel, Alanis Morissette and Dido, all fine influences indeed but I think the main thing Leigh lacks is a huge voice. Although sweet and pleasant it doesn't have the depth that will make her stand out unless she gets more vocal training.

On a lighter note she has some good ideas in her songs and I admire any young singer who is also a songwriter and writes lyrics and music.

Track 4 'Falling' is especially nice with the piano throughout with acoustic guitar as well before it breaks into her rapping, totally changeing the feel of the song.

Queensland has produced some excellent talent in recent years with George amongst others, let's hope with a few more years of experience Leigh Chantelle will do the same.
