So what's the current line up of Cherry Prep and who plays what in the band??

nathan:

daniel vocals, nathan bass, matt guitar, lach drums

Cindy:

What's it been like for you guys breaking into the Sydney scene? Do you find this is a competitive market?

nathan:

Hell yeah its a competitive market, u got rad bands like AIF, bagster, unpaid debt, something with numbers, never pay retail etc, its not an easy market there’s so much talent here

Cindy:

Double thumbs up for Unpaid Debt, those guys are doing so well! Has the band formed throughout high school or elsewhere?

nathan:

Was he the completion of what is now Cherry Prep?

nathan:

yup

Cindy:

What instigated the name change? Did Daniel replace a member out of Last In Charge? What happened there?

nathan says:

Nah, we just hated the name. I don’t like this name so much either, but what can u do. We don’t play any last in charge songs either, we r a completely different band

Cindy says:

So how long ago did the new line up/band set in?

nathan says:

Bout 8 months

Cindy:

nathan:

Well... it’s a bit of a secret

Cindy:

So there's a special meaning behind it ;)

nathan:

It’s got a lot to do with sex

Cindy:

hahah.... I'm going to leave that question there.....

How would you describe your band’s music?

nathan:

I dunno, its pop punk I guess, as much as I hate to admit it, it is. It’s got some very serious overtones to it though. We try not to go for cheap laughs or whatever. As for a style (hasn’t this been said 1000000 times by 1000000 bands) we try not to limit it to straight forward stuff

nathan:

Try a bit of dub, emo, metal, whatever

nathan:

It’s all cherry prep music

Cindy:

Ok cool, and what's been the bands' greatest achievement to date?

nathan:

Hahaha, ummmmm, we aren’t allowed to say. But we’ve made a fairly good start I guess…

Cindy:

Fair enough. Are you able to let some of your musical influences slide?

nathan:

Finch, the used, good charlotte, avril (yes, I said it, I mean it), ODS, sublime

nathan:

Anything really, if its cool we try to do something along the lines of that

Cindy:

Does Cherry Prep have any previous releases or future recording plans in sight?

nathan:

Yeah, we currently have a sampler of our music until we head into the studio to record an EP during April

Cindy:

What 3 bands have you played with in the past?

nathan:

All in favour, unpaid debt, new horizon, these three have definitely been our favourites to play along side.

Cindy:

What 3 bands would you like to play with in the future?

nathan:

Well, something with numbers in the near future, that’s pretty attainable. Those guys are so good, then probably one dollar short, but the band I really wanna play with is blink 182

Cindy:

Ok cool, what was the last gig you went to?

nathan:

Good charlotte, For amusement only and something with numbers, Monday nite

Cindy:

Oh rad, I hear Ben Lee got up on stage to sing w/ G.C, was that that show?

nathan:

Nah, I heard about that, not happy that I missed it

Cindy:

Yeah there were a few mixed reactions in the crowd apparently, what was the last CD you brought?

nathan:

damn, ummm, that was a while back, ill say the used (I just stole it off our drummer actually)

Cindy:

I'm obsessed with that album (self titled!!!) Good choice! What would a few of your all time favourite discs be?

nathan:

All time fav, blue skies, broke heart next 12 exits, the Ataris, the used, self titled, what it is to burn finch, Jimmy eat world, bleed American, whatever and ever amen Ben folds five

nathan:

Hopefully doing a lot of touring, I wanna get out on the road and play a whole bunch of shows, and see why it’s so hard to tour. Playing shows and hopefully recording a full length album (signed or unsigned)

Cindy:
